Why Use QuickRectify PDF to Markdown?
In the modern knowledge-management ecosystem—dominated by tools like Obsidian, Notion, Logseq, and GitHub—Markdown (.md) has emerged as the universal standard for plain-text notes, documentation, and technical writing. However, valuable information remains trapped inside static PDF documents, academic papers, API manuals, and whitepapers. Copy-pasting text from a PDF typically results in messy line breaks, lost heading hierarchies, and mangled tables. QuickRectify's PDF to Markdown converter extracts structured Markdown cleanly directly inside your web browser.
Our extraction engine analyzes typographic metadata, font sizes, baseline coordinates, and font weights to construct an abstract syntax tree (AST). Text lines with large font sizes and bold weights are mapped to appropriate Markdown heading levels (# H1, ## H2, ### H3). Monospaced fonts (such as Courier, Consolas, or Fira Code) are grouped into fenced code blocks (```), and bullet lists are converted into standard Markdown dashes (-).
For documents containing tabular data, our engine detects cell intersections and formats them into standard GitHub Flavored Markdown (GFM) pipe tables (| Header | Value |). Inline text styling—including bold, italics, code spans, and hyperlinks—is mapped to corresponding Markdown syntax, eliminating hours of manual reformatting.
Because all document parsing and AST generation execute locally in your browser memory via WebAssembly, your confidential research notes, internal technical documentation, and proprietary books are never uploaded to external servers. Convert your PDFs into versatile Markdown notes quickly, accurately, and completely free.
